  • A beautiful part of the world. The lake is large enough to take about an hour to walk round but there are plenty of other routes to take if you want to be out longer. Sandy shores on the lake make it ideal to play in with the kids and there are lots of dogs that look like they are having the time of their life. There is now a small cafe as well. Downsides are the dog litter left around and the car park. Maybe the lack of dog poo bins should be looked at. The car park is not that big and is very pot holey but you don't have to pay for it. We had a pushchair with us which can be hard to manoeuvre on the sandy paths, but we managed OK. This place also has Adders, the UKs most venomous snake. I have never seen one though, but there are warnings around the place. They have a wide variety of bird life as well and places to stop and watch them. All in all a lovely place to visit for the day, take a picnic, take your kids and the dog and have fun, it's free!
  • Very nice place to walk around and great for dog owners. It even has it's very own cafe with outside seating. Some bumpy roads to get there though.
  • Just fabulous place. Peaceful and stunning. Love the cafe too
  • This is a beautiful place to visit, whether you are going for a walk, looking for somewhere to have a picnic and relax in beautiful surroundings, or take the dog for a walk. There are many "beaches" where you can pitch up and enjoy the waters edge. Get there early if you want to claim a Cove to yourself. Dog walkers will be in heaven. We managed to push a buggy around the lake but it was a little tricky in places, what with tree stumps and some sandy areas. There is also a lovely little cafe serving refreshments next to the lake, but as we had a picnic we didn't use it. There are many different routes to choose from with different terrains, such as the sandy paths around the lake to the woodland trails. Thoroughly recommend for a lovely day out.
  • Lovely scenery something for all to enjoy from walking, picnic, paddling dog walking or bird watching to exploring or just sitting down watching the wind blow the trees good day out.
