  • Bit pricey for the food but it is good food in lovely surroundings. Garden is small but still a pleasure to look around. Plenty of parking too,
  • Said finest local ingredients used in the cafe, not the case unless frozen, microwaved food is your bag! Mediocre coffee, but a nice pot of tea
  • A small but beautifully designed garden. I've taken annual membership this year to get the best of this place. Some attractive winter foliage and bark for winter colour. Always a pleasant walk in a br...  more »

  • Nice place to visit. The staff are friendly and the food is great. The inside can be cold but well worth it. Will be back
  • Nice afternoon walk around the gardens and a very nice place to eat out
  • Was once the very top of garden design but a recent visit was disappointing. The strong design is what holds this garden's appeal. Alas it needs a lot of labour to get rid of the weeds. The lawn closest to the cafe is the best of a bad lot, with the majority also full of weeds. The centre areas being left uncut - presumably to save paying labour. I arrived hoping to see a garden of the same standards as John Brookes' publications... It is not. Having said all of the above I would still suggest that it is worth a visit inspite of the paltry display of plants for sale. The design elements are outstanding and John Brookes remains my favourite designer.
  • Lovely well kept gardens and shop etc. Good cafe. Only thing we found was its very small and our visit was about a hour which for the entry fee is expensive.
