Lower Leas Coastal Park, Folkestone

4.7
Opened in 2000, Lower Leas Coastal Park is split into three broad recreational zones. Beginning at the Leas Lift, the formal zone is comprised of pine avenues, gardens, and flowers blooming all year. Pathways wind through this area, so you can stroll peacefully to enjoy the smells and sights. The fun zone is home to the largest free adventure play area in the southeast. There is also an amphitheater, which is popular with visitors. The wild zone is a haven for quiet recreation, where careful habitat management allows wildlife to thrive. Keep watch for the critters that roam here. Plan your visit to Lower Leas Coastal Park and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Folkestone holiday planner.

  • Great for a nice walk through the park to the play area for children. There are a couple of BBQ areas and a tea room/cafe. You can then enjoy a,nice walk back along the promenade to Folkestone harbour if you wish. You can also make your way up to the top of the Leas if you wish and through to the town centre. Very enjoyable.
  • Beautifully landscaped area with lots to do for young children. Swings, multi level climbing frames, zip wires, climbing walls etc. Several areas for BBQ's, public toilets and right on top of the beach. During the summer there is also a cafe on the beach front. Combine this with a visit to sunny sands (2 minute drive away) and the fountains.the kids will love it ,and so will the adults (if there are no kids, go to the Harbour Arm).
  • Beautifully maintained environment. Play park for children. One of my favourite places. Well worth a visit .
  • Nice clean park, be prepared to climb on your way back up, unless you have parked at the bottom. The flowers and other plants are really pretty. It's nice to sit on the grass and you can take a picnic/barbecue. Often has events going on e.g. live music or plays.
  • Beautiful place though its a shame the naughty teenagers sometimes use it as there drinking location at night times other than that great place for the kids picnics keeping fit nice walks etc..xx
