It's a fun few hours out, though very sedate! Good for a low key morning/afternoon. My two year old daughter loved the trip on the steam train. You could spend an hour or so there - two loops of the track, a play on the small climbing frame and a look in the museum, and stretch in out with a picnic. I think that they have themed weekends when here may be more on - check the website - my impression is that it's great for the younger ones (and enthusiasts) as you get to go on the train and watch it go round. Kids who are 9/10 and over may not find it so exciting....
Least rush even on Sunday perfect for a warm evening. This little train❤ Toddlers would love! My little girl is in love with the train ride and horses delight to watch 👍
A wonderful volunteer run railway. Based on the trains that delivered fuel to the neighbouring steam pump house. Fantastic for the kids and a slice of history for adults and big kids alike. Don't be afraid to ask any questions, all the volunteers are very knowledgeable.
Yes we have a ride on the steam train. Hurra!!!! Open air, smell of coal, a sound of whistle, wooden benches...we went back in time...☺ Fun place to be. They are hoping to extend the track soon...I wish them a very big good luck. I hope the local councils will understand the importance of projects like that...Keep up good work. Thank you. Ps It's run by volunteers.😇
The correct name is the Hampton & Kempton Waterworks Railway, using the ampersand not the 'and'.
