  • The parking was good, there was an attendee to park everyone in. On entering the park there was a Halloween hunt, I loved the idea and its good fund for kids to visit the whole park as you need to vis...  read more »
  • Having seen the website advertising Wheelgate I thought it would be a great day out for the family and less travel time than visiting Alton Towers. I read the reviews which seemed pretty hit and miss,...  read more »
  • Really disappointed as they kept shutting rides cause ov a bit of rain & wind would lay to go bk here
  • Although the park is very dated now and looking its age with tired, clunky, aged rides and worn out and dirty facilities, we were local and agreed to meet some friends there for our children to have a play date. During our visit we ordered some lunch, after 1hr 30mins we were given a limp and tasteless burger and chips (how hard is it to get a burger and chips wrong?), we were one of several families who complained on the day. Most of the park staff aren't much older than children themselves, they haven't been given much if any training and on the day we visited no supervisors or management were available on site. Wheelgate customer services contacted us by email and offered us complimentary tickets which we have never received, when we have chased them up for these they say 'they are looking in to it' but don't ever give a substantive response. We are still without the complimentary tickets over a month later and can only guess that the customer service department are just as rubbish as the restaurant staff at delivering what they offer. Dreadful customer service and mediocre park. Visit if you have to, but be sure to take your own food and only have incredibly low expectations for customer service.
  • The birds of pray centre was excellent and the staff were very knowledgeable. The park all in all was a great family day out and we'll worth £30 if you book online.
  • The park is good for young children, but terrible for any kid over 6 years old. Sadly, the management offer an incompetent service, and have zero customer service skills. They openly acknowledge they have made an error and activated your annual pass by mistake, when the child in question should actually be free. Instead of offering good service though, the management team have no customer service skills what-so-ever. They treat you like cattle and make you wait for ages with young toddlers, only to be told they still won't refund you even though they admit you shouldn't have been charged £35!! Sadly, the management team let the park down. I wouldn't buy another annual pass on principle that the customer is treated so poorly.
  • Despite a very dated play park my grandchildren always have a good time here, the young staff are very pleasant and well trained. My complaint with the park is the lack of free water for the children to drink, the water fountains are all old and broken,is this a deliberate policy to sell more bottle water? If so it shows a mean spirit. Active children get very thirsty,we can't carry enough for a family or buy expensive bottled water. Surely legally this can't be right.
  • My son went here on a school trip, and was delighted to find out that we were to return for a family visit. Pay online in advance to get a discount. Parking is well organized on arrival, and you can return to your car during your visit if needed (eg for a picnic lunch). There is plenty to do around the park, aimed at kids under 10. The wet weather activities are actually excellent rather than being an afterthought. We spent time in them having a coffee whilst the kids enjoyed the mirrored maze and rides. The animal section is not the best. Whilst it allows easy walking around, and the animals seemed healthy, the enclosures were too small and it seemed to have been added as an afterthought. Overall the kids loved it and so did we. We'll worth a visit.
