  • What an amazing place, I want there yesterday for the first time... it sprawls over loads of floors and rooms. I thought I would have to tie string to the door to find my way back out :-) I'll definitely be back :-)
  • An amazing place to visit, could be lost for hours in room after room of antiques. Lovely building as well, couldn't help but imagine living there as I wondered around. Highly recommended, a great day trip and a fantastic chance to look into our history. I also appreciated the freedom of being able to touch and handle many of the items without staff looking down their nose at you (unfortunately like some more modern gift shops). My only negative comments would be that prices on smaller items were a little on the high side. I am aware that the old building must be expensive to maintain, but I would have been inclined to spend a little more if I got better value. Also, there were a wealth of notices and warnings about the CCTV system. Although CCTV is sadly a necessity in a place as venerable to theft, I felt all the signs and notes were a little overboard. Perhaps a more subtle approach would be one notice on the front door and then just let the cameras speak for themselves? On the whole though, a lovely day and will no doubt be visiting again. Thank you!
  • Can't even believe there are some negative reviews on here. I am a regular visitor to Bourne Mill and never leave disappointed. The many rooms (and those that you may not discover the first few times you go) mean that there is something for everyone, and is the best priced antiques centre I know. I've bought things here that would be twice as much even at a car boot sale. Staff are always fantastic and willing to help. Eaten in the cafe a few times, and received discount on my last visit as the food we had ordered was slightly cold, but the member of staff was so accomodating and very generous, no qualms there whatsoever! Overall this is a brilliant place to spend a day or afternoon browsing the fantastic old rooms and finding some real gems. Couldn't recommend more highly!
  • What a fantastic little treasure trove!!!!!! Today my wife & I went to the Bourne Mill after becoming friends on Facebook. Iam not great @ long reviews but have to say we loved the place!!! Having read some reviews on here we were not going to eat in the Tea-Room BUT we happened to walk through the tea-room to look @ some antiques & witnessed some lovely food coming out of the kitchen & the smell of home-made cakes being cooked was incredible. So we stopped there, had a lovely pannini each, a cup of coffee & a slab of cake. I have to say it was great. So much so that we are going back & taking friends next week. If you have read some reviews that say the tea-room is not great ignore them, take it from me, iam fussy & loved the food. All in all a thoroughly nice 2 hrs we spent @ The Bourne Mill. We ended up spending far too much money but thoroughly enjoyed it!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
