Unless you're a national trust member as we are, we wouldn't of bothered knowing what we know now. There are much nicer and well kept gardens to visit in the membership. Beware basically the whole of ...  more »

Stopped here while in the area. As NT members it was free to enter. It is a nice walk down to the beach, then back via the gardens. The children had a little quiz to do on the way round, and they real...  more »

From the moment we were great by the staff in the car park to the time we left we had a great experience. We love the National Trust and have been members for ages so we are probably biased but it did...  more »

  • Smiles all round from the lovely team guiding you to a parking space. Greeted with a quiz for the children and directions to the main reception area. Once again it is another National Trust garden that delivers. It is a lovely place to meander through, relaxing in the wonderful garden. Not something to hurry. The maze is also a great spark of interest for pretty much everyone. Try the life hack my son suggests, keeping to the left at all times, unless you are forced to deviate. Anyway, it worked for me. At some point you will reach the beach which is very pleasant for a picnic lunch. There are plenty of rock pools to explore. The gardens are a circular walk returning to the beginning. At which point you could have a cup of tea and cake at the cafe. All in all a splendid finale to a horticultural feast for the senses.
  • Really food. The price feels steep at the door but when you get in and see how beautiful it is the price is all worth it. The maze is great fun. Throw your kids in and watch them wear themselves out. The giant's stride is so much fun and really good. The plants are beautiful and well maintained. Such good views! Just a great day out.
  • Stunning, the kids loved the Maze (my wife was also stuck for a while). A sheltered, wonderful valley with some very old trees and plants. The cafe is the usual National Trust offering, so, tasty although a little pricey. Access was also good, we should have taken a pushchair around the grounds although opted for piggybacks! A great place for the kids to safely explore. We'll definitely be going back when we next head to the Lizard Peninsula.
  • Yet another beautiful National Trust garden. Full of wonderful sights, good facilities, and a nice walk down to the river for an ice cream and rock climbing! Will definitely be returning many times
  • It. Was. Incredible. We have done a fair amount of gardens around but this one was our favorite. The setting is really nice, and the usage of the land and relief is making the place very unique and special. A lot of blossoming trees at this period of the year!
