  • Spent a very pleasant hour and a half wondering down the gardens to the Helford River then back up hill to the cafe and shop.  more »
  • A lovely afternoon walk down through the garden to Durgan. We did not have time to try the maze but should be wonderful for children. Beware this is a steep walk.  more »

  • A brilliant fun day out. Exquisitely maintained beautiful gardens with well planned trails and a walk to a tiny quaint village. An excellent maze with low level hedges to allow for parental monitoring from outside, that the kids loved and an old swinging rope construction that kids can whirl around on. One of the best ever national trust attractions I've ever been to and one of the few that actually justified the fee of 10.50 if you're not a member. I fully recommend membership though as a family could cover the admission for a whole year by visiting two attractions. Go here if in the area, you won't regret it.
  • Beautiful National Trust Garden running down a valley to the Helford Estuary. Featuring a hedge maze, the Giant's Stride swing and a great tea room. There is a fantastic collection of trees, ferns and shrubs which provide colour on the journey down the valley. At the bottom of the hill is a small seaside hamlet with a stony beach with brilliant views of the estuary. Ice creams are available in a small shop.
  • Very nice gardens. Paths are gravelled. Cobbles cover some of the pathways so bear this in mind if you have mobility issues. Nice cafe with outside seating. Large car park and nice toilet block.
  • Beautiful gardens with good paths down to the shore. We walked to it along the coastal path. I thought that over £14 for 2 coffees and 2 very ordinary white bread cheese sandwiches in their NT cafe a bit steep.
  • We love this garden, especially as it runs down to a small beach by the sea. They sell coffee and tea at the beach from a small hut and also ice cream during high season. There is however a good sized cafe at the entrance end of the garden, doing teas and cakes and lunches. It's owned by the the National Trust and is a really beautiful garden consisting of walks round the brook at the bottom of the valley. There is a maze and rope swing for children.
