  • We visited here, but was quite disappointed. We love history and looked forward to learn about this uncovered villa, although all the information was based on 'this could have been'... Which left you ...  read more »
  • Hadn't planned on visiting the villa-in fact, it wasn't even mentioned in either or our guidebooks. Glad we saw it listed at another English Heritage site. So we stopped by-and it is amazing! Fully co...  read more »
  • I'm sure we have all seen pictures and films of the villa but when you enter through the door you will be impressed not only by the size but the tranqility. A great way to spend an hour.
  • Remember visiting this place when i was a kid and enjoying it then. A visit too many years to admit later on and i wasn't disappointed. Not the largest monument you'll visit but it is what it is, a Roman Villa. Well preserved with a lot of interesting exhibits, well worth a visit (or re-visit).
  • An excellent, well preserved Roman Villa. The tour is short (about half an hour), but the surrounding area (including an old Roman aqueduct, now part of the train line) is lovely.
  • A well excavated villa, full of interesting artifacts. Back in 100AD, this villa had under floor heating, as well as in-room heating as well as a full spa. A few human remains, will always delight the interested traveler.
  • I remember visiting as a child. What a pleasure it was to visit with my own children. Extremely well presented with a fantastic example of Roman presence in Britain. The exhibit kept our children interested and entertained. The subject matter was absolutely fascinating! The choice of refreshments was limited but, what was on offer was of good quality and very fairly priced! Entry price reasonable for a family. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definately be returning!
  • A great example of a roman villa.
