  • An unusual war memorial, with a lovely statue of a female VAD nurse. The gardens have seen better days but the city wall and castle are magical
  • Very close to town so worth popping in for a break from the busy centre. Nice views of the city in a peaceful and very pretty location.
  • Running parallel with the main shopping street Northernhay gardens is a slightly hidden gem of Exeter. The easiest place to access it is on Queen Street opposite the Rougemont Hotel.. The gardens curv...  more »

  • Lovely space to escape from the rustle of the town.
  • Lovely shortcut gardens to skip the madness of the high street and a really nice place to go for a chill out
  • Delightful 'ICONIC' gardens, (the oldest in England), the city of 'EXETER', just a short walk from 'EXETER CENTRAL RAIL STATION', not far from the 'CATHEDRAL'. (Just look at that art work of ages old). An ideal place to start your 'ENTHUSIASTIC EXPLORATION' in search of 'ARCHITECTURAL ARTIFACTS' which can be found all over the city. Victorian bridges, older churches, with 'MODERN ARCHITECTURE' that fits in well with the ancient, once walled city, dating back to 'NORMAN TIMES'. A 'LOVELY SHOPPING CENTER', with choice and variety to suit the largest, smallest wallet. Catching the train is often the cheapest and quickest, (45 minutes), off peak way to visit the city, travelling along 'ICONIC TRACK' laid by the pioneers of railway, along side estuaries and beaches, where you can see 'SHELLDUCK, MUTE SWANS, CANADA GEESE, BLACK SWANS, CORMORANTS, even ROE DEER and FALLOW DEER', with beaches and the sea just feet away, which is well walked, featuring 'ICONIC ROCK STRUCTURES'. A city to interest everyone, even fun getting here by train. SORRY, have to go, only got five minutes to get to the station, to catch the last train home. WAIT FOR MEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT A GREAT 'AWAY DAY' IT WAS TODAY..................
  • Very atmospheric, beginning of the city wall trail. The oldest public gardens.....?
  • Lovely respite from the bustle of the city and a bit of a short cut as well!
