Good place, bar & food good. Views are great so can walk around for a bit for so fresh air. It has Exeter city all around it so things can break up & people can find there way.

First things first. This building should not be called a castle. It is but a larger house - a courthouse. There used to be a castle here, back in the day, but was swept away in the 1770s. The gatehouse is still there, but that's about it. We went inside the court (it's behind automated gates - I don't know if it's usually opened, but we managed to sneak in with some other people), but there really wasn't anything to see. It's used for weddings and events as far as we gathered from the website. The grounds are clean and well maintained though. You can easily skip it and spend time in the gardens next to it. Time better spent.

Brilliant place for a conference, good airy space and historic setting with the toilets in the old crown court cells downstairs.
