Exbury Gardens & Steam Railway, Exbury

The 81-hectare (200-acre) Exbury Gardens & Steam Railway is famous for its collection of colorful flowers, rare trees, rock gardens, exotic fruits, and wildlife. Take a scenic stroll through the many pathways that weave through the award-winning gardens, or sit back and relax on a chauffeur-driven buggy. Hop aboard the steam train and pass some sections of the gardens that can only be seen from the railroad. Children will enjoy spotting a number of woodland moss animals. A cafe and gift shop are located at the entrance to the garden, and in the summer months there is a small cafe in the grounds. Wear durable shoes, as the pathways change from pavement to gravel and dirt throughout the gardens. • Beautiful gardens that are really well kept. So many colours and pretty sights. A great view of the river at many points around the garden. Also, the gardens are very well signposted and easy to navigate.
  • Lovely gardens, with all year round interest. Loved the buggy ride with an informative and jocular driver. Well worth the price of entry.
  • Wow what a place. 200 acres of incredible gardens, showing off an amazing collection of rhododendrons, camellias, and azaleas. The house is also an amazing view, complete with the Burmese Bell just outside the front. There is also a mini steam railway journey. Make sure you take the buggy around the gardens, it's a great way to see it all.
  • Absolutely stunning gardens with such an array of beautiful flowers. Very much about the plants, but does have a miniature train which is great fun and an excellent cafĂ©, gift shop and plant sales.
  • Great gardens. As for me - railway didn't cost the money - it's much more pleasant to walk because train is quite slow and covers only 30% of garden
