  • A decent place not the biggest but it does have a small museum you can spend an hour in reading about the history of the castle and local area .  more »

  • Has a small but very interesting museum to start with that leads into the castle grounds. Very nice inside just a shame you can't climb the towers or walls.
  • Good English heritage property that features well maintained grounds and ruins of the former Etal Castle. However is a little small and there is not too much to see. The entrance features a museum focused on the Battle of Flooden and the castles links to it. After browsing the museum visitors to the can browse the remains of the tower house and the gatehouse. The vast outdoor grass surrounding the tower house makes a great spot for a picnic and benches are also located around the site should you need them. The castle is just next-door to the Etal Station of the Heatherslaw Light Railway making it a ideal stop for anyone riding the train.
  • Cool historic place to visit.
  • A great place! Really atmospheric and interesting. Polite and friendly staff, a really good morning well spent :)
  • Not much to see but we'll kept.
