Tiptree Jam Museum & Tea Room, Essex

1st time we visited this quaint place. We had a wonderful breakfast there. The staff were very friendly. Loved walking around the museum. Spent some money on the jams in the shop and got some gifts. It was clean and a joy to visit. We plan on coming back again in a few months.

The food here is fantastic and all looks and tastes freshly made. The service is excellent and staff work hard. It does get extremely busy at lunch and there are queues but it's because the food is so good with many daily specials on offer along with the standard menu.

Very poor costumer service! I recently bought (as I did many times before) one jar of raspberry preserve. As you can see from the photos there was a musty part on the top of it. The product was brand new and I had just opened it for the first time I've sent Tiptree an email on 05 Nov. with these pics attached via email explaining what had happened and I’ve never heard anything back. I am definitely frustrated due to their lack of customer service and as we are talking about a company founded in 1885 it is unacceptable.

Toast was served burnt. Some of the staff provide excellent customer service while some not great at all. I asked one lady for a fork & she almost threw it on the table and turned away, we were shocked. I expect better from a place like this, need to identify poor service & sort it out quickly to keep up the good reputation.

Third time I've visited here. Really love the place - this time I brought a friend from London, who really enjoyed learning about the history in he museum. The tea room is lovely and cosy with a good buzz. I would highly recommend you visit the shop, there are a ton of gifts that aren't available in many places.
