  • Spent a lovely day at Claremont in the sunshine last weekend. Nice to find deck chairs freely available around the lake. Good views from some of the paths. Parking was a bit tricky - we managed to get...  more »
  • A lovely a few hours spent strolling around the lake with my husband. Friendly staff both at the paying hut and the cafĂ©. Worth the visit. We will return later in the year when we can bring our dog.  more »
  • I went one Sunday afternoon for the first time and what a stunning place. There is car parking but when I went this was full so there are places to park on the road and near to the gardens. There is p...  more »

  • A surprisingly peaceful, tranquil place. We visited on Mother's Day and although the Car Park (and surrounding parking) was completely full, visitors had dissipated over the large grounds. There is a fine variety of terrain, a stunning lake and more grounds to the south; bigger than I thought. The gift shop and cafe was packed, though, being Mother's Day (during the week this is not the case so much.)
  • Beautiful landscaped gardens maintained by the National Trust. Big enough to spend the day walking around the lake and gardens. Lovely peaceful scene for the children to run around.
  • Beautiful grounds any time of the year. A lovely place to walk around, relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. Good cafe also to recharge your batteries at the end which also has a nice children's play area nearby.
  • A landscaped bit of countryside designed by Capability Brown. With a lake in the middle and a hill to one side there's a lovely, natural walking route. Punctuated by beautifully framed views. One of the greatest things is a little thatched house filled with Victorian style toys, such as wooden hoops. It keeps the children amused for hours. Only disappointment is the cafe is somewhat lacking and expensive.
  • One of the nicest little gardens we love to visit with the kids. Really good walk around a day during the summer a nice place to picnic. Gardens farm is close too so a good trip to the area.
