  • Lovely views. Good walks ranging from long to short. Great for dogs and/or children. Nice area for picnics. Surrounded by 3 pubs for a nice after walk drink/food. Apart from Derby it's never too busy.
  • Apart from the racing, there's an exhibition space that is first class. The staff are friendly and helpful. The racecourse has an air of quality and the infrastructure is modern and well maintained.
  • The racecourse is on the top of the downs, about 150m above sea level, with wide views over London and Surrey. The famous Epsom Derbyshire is run here every June (first Saturday). You can hike across the downs to Walton Downs, or fly model airplanes and kites. You can get refreshments year round at the Lunch Box hut, or at the 3 pubs. An invigorating place to unwind and relax.
  • Derby Day without a doubt plays second fiddle to Royal Ascot in terms of sophistication and sense of occasion. Neither the standards of dress nor the service are as sharp, and the food options in and around the Queen's Stand were very limited. However, if you're determined to have an opportunity to wear a top hat and morning dress to the races and don't know anyone who can invite you into the Royal Enclosure at Ascot then this is your only other option.
  • Nice place to bust for dog walking, a walk. A drive out. And also see the yearly horse racing. A cafe is near carpark.
