We have been to this Center Parcs a few times and it didn't disappoint. Despite arriving on a day that had a months rainfall in one day (!) we had a good time. We headed straight for the supermarket o... read more »
This was our second visit to CP after loving our first a year ago. Staying in an executive lodge this time in the Oak area. We were right next to the golf course tucked in a corner with no view to fro... read more »
Great for families, fun for couples. Lots to do and loads of cycling. Lodges can be a bit cramped together, everything is a bit expensive, and service in restaurants is very poor. Fun swimming pool with entertaining slides. Really well set up for children.
Centre parks are always a favorite holiday to enjoy as adults and children. Elveden is one of the best centre parcs in the UK having been to most of them over the years. There is so much to do and it's up to you how much you want to do or spend. The centre is a great place to hang out when the whether is poor with swimming, Raquel sports, climbing, Bowl's, pool or just to dine and chill in the pub. The facilities in the lodges are really well kept with everything you need and ample space. All lodges come with outdoor space for BBQ or alfresco dining. We went over Christmas and the whole parc is dressed in white snow and festive light as well as a grotto complete with reindeer. The kids loved it. Only thing that is annoying is the activities are all aimed towards children over 5 and there is nothing for younger kids other than a creche, so as a little one came along we have given centre parks a miss for a while.
We've been several times before and have never been able to fault the quality of the accommodation, service and facilities. We stayed with dogs and so were allocated a villa on the outskirts of the park. Yes, it's further to cycle but unless you've got young children it's no real problem. The benefit of being on the outer ring road is that you've got direct access to the outer path for dog walks and space for the kids to run in among the trees. Plus you're with other dog owners so no-one minds a curious head poking round the corner from time to time. We went with a friend and his three children. Two of the kids bikes ended up being two small and our friend's bike lost a pedal. The cycle centre gave everyone free cycles and lots of help making sure we were set up right. After that we had fewer complaints from the kids and happier cycling. The pool was, naturally, the highlight for the kids and it really is great with lots to do for all ages.
I've have been coming here since I was a small child and have always felt of this place as my second home! The moment I pull off the main road and see that "Welcome to Center Parcs" sign I am all ready at peace and ready to enjoy my stay! The main argument I always have with people about holidays at center parcs is that everything is too expensive, no offence but how many places can boast to have close to 100 different activities, 95% are done within the 400 acre complex. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and if your start booking activities upto 6 months before you go you have it all sorted with no fuss when your there! The restaurants and even their takeaway provide tasty and superior food to any of their rivals. I always go for the Chinese takeaway the first night then there is no fuss after a long day travel.... or if you are on a more strict budget then every villa has full self catering facilities! All of this is situated within 400 acres of Thetford forest acres and is a hive of woodland activity! We get the chance to feed squirrels, ducks, swans, deer! and many other animals that share this beautiful place. My advice if you are on a tight budget, you don't have to fill your whole day full of activities..... you could just limit yourself to 1 or 2 a day and spend part if your day using the swimming facilities which are great! Or sit in your villa watching the wildlife!
HORRIBLE TERRIFIED EXPERIENCE !! I been working there as sous chef, the place is DIRTY, and very unclean , dust , grease , mice ,and expired food are normally served to the customers !!! After my horrible experience i wrote a letter to the main office HR SSP and few managers , But this letter made the general manager of Center Parcs (SALLY C. ) uncomfortable and I had to leave due to a perfect trap made for me by her , where apparently I stolen 40 pence of cheese ! I raised another letter of grievance to the head office against her where I explained my reasons and how I Been trapped by her. The result: I got fired ,( I was to dangerous for them)but they offered me a money to close the case . Conclusion : AVOID THIS PLACE FOR HEALT RESON Dirtiness ,
