  • Kids had a great time. HOWEVER, toilets are utterly disgusting, the worst I have ever seen. The food provision was hugely inadequate with most of the "menu" unavailable during lunchtime (and during half term!), hugely overpriced items in terms of drinks, snacks, ice cream. Charges prohibitive for farm and horse riding. However, our two kids played for hours on the nets, we had no idea we were supposed to pay for them, they were unsupervised and nobody told us otherwise and there was nothing to suggest a payment was required. We only realised due to other reviews! Pooh walk was lovely, really pretty and enjoyable. Advice? Take a picnic, anti bac wipes and gel in terms of toilets and be clear that there are very few people around to offer help or directions. Car park is also very over-priced. The park, however, is stunningly beautiful and it is very much worth a visit for the amazing woodland, lake and wildlife.
  • We used to enjoy Aldenham when our children were young. They are now grown up so I suggested to my wife that we took a walk around the reservoir. Oh dear, how things have changed! The car park costs £4.50 irrespective of how long you are there. We took less than an hour for our walk and then we had to join the queue to exit. There is a single lane for exit so we had wait while each car fed the machine with coins. On our turn, the machine swallowed one coin without registering it so we were overcharged. With a queue of people behind us, I had to grin and bear it and over-feed the machine. There was an intercom but the instructions were so complicated that I couldn't face attempting to use it. Aside from the car park, there are a number of activities for young children but they were all quite expensive. As for catering, all we found was an open air kiosk. In summary, there are so many better places in the area, for example Rickmansworth Aquadrome, that Aldenham really is one to avoid!
  • Awful, so grabby. There is next to nothing the kids can do without a charge. £5 for a few measly minutes on a pony, £5 to climb onto some unmanned nets, God knows what it costs for the farm were you can feed the animals (you have to pay to enter and pay for food too). They even charge £4.50 just to park in their car park! The worst part of this was that you couldn't get buggies in and out of the toilets very easily (in fact it was plain difficult) and they were in a disgraceful state with faeces all over the walls and clearly are never cleaned. And of course there was no soap to wash my hands with after accidently touching some of the poo that was smeared all over the toilet roll holder. This place is an awful rip off and I won't be taking my two kids ever again. There are so many more places that offer fantastic value for money, where the kids can enjoy themselves and their parents don't get fleeced. Try the Gruffalo Trail for instance or cedars park in cheshunt, or lea valley park farms they have it right. What a waste of time and money.
  • Variety of outdoor activities aimed at children.(some at a price.) Rudimentary kiosk and toilets facilities. Adequate but could be vastly improved with some guiding vision. Rather ho-hum.
  • Basically 2 walks - One 2k around the lake and 1 prob 1k around '100 Aker wood' - I wouldn't expect too much from either but very pleasant and perfect lengths for kids . Small farm animal showcase was pretty muddy and smelly today but can imagine it in a better light - mainly chickens, rabbit and goats (a few varieties of each). Pack the wellies, don't expect much more than ducks and geese but a really nice unwind on the right kind of day
