  • The website says free ample parking for cars. I visited in my motorhome and there was a height barrier of 2.1 metres. Website ought to make clear there is this height restiction. This is a 5 star muse...  read more »
  • Excellent museum. Gave an insight into the lives of the people who worked on the canals. Only a short walk from the train station.

  • Visited the museum over the Easter weekend had a wonderfull experience... there is a regular shanti festival over the 4 days which truly brings the museum to life the historic crafts and other activities singing and live music all around the site and in an open bar.......... a truly magical experience already got next year's visit booked when the historic boat gather also takes place can't wait.
  • Excellent fun. My two sons 5 and 7 loved it as did Grandad. My daughter, my mother and I liked the boat trip best. Lovely food in cafe too and staff all friendly.
  • Informative volanteer staff. Exellent displays. Boat trip was brill. Very moving story about Jose his wife and dolly their horse. Worth the trip from Dorset.
  • Well worth a visit, lots to see if you are interested in canals and their social history. Visited on opening weekend and were fortunate to hear a performance by their current artist in residence, Francesca Millican_Slater describing her walk along the canal from Birmingham to Ellesmere Port ; a spell binding performance.
