  • Brilliant evening at Waterstone's Edinburgh. We had coffee on arrival prior to a book signing. Cafe staff were super and helpful. Event was brilliant which made my little girl very happy.  more »

  • Service dreadfully slow. Three guys behind bar seemed to be happier chatting than getting the long queue down.  more »

  • Absolutely great. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and there is a lot of variety in their stock, especially in their non-fiction, basement, area. I recommend checking their website as you can purchase books sometimes at a cheaper price and collect them at the store. I used this click and collect option for the first time recently and received an email within 10min to tell me that the books were ready to collect!
  • My favourite waterstones. Coffee on central Edinburgh with view of castle seeing the beauty of Edinburgh. And good books. Would recommend 10/8
  • If you like quite morning, cosy afternoon, books with nice coffees and view. Perfect. Enjoyed it.
  • Very well laid out and lots of children's books variety including local stuff to take a story about Nessie back to my daughter after a trip away.
  • Good coffee counter. No G.F. sandwiches yet. Books everywhere (of course). Hard to resist, so I often don't!

Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.
