Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.

  • We popped in for a quick coffee (so can't comment on the food), but were blown away by the friendly welcome and service. The espressos were good and the artwork is interesting to look at as you drink.  more »

  • Such a friendly little place and a lovely Scottish version of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I tried had the banh mi and Vietnamese coffee, both were great. The banh mi wasn't exactly to the usual ingredients, but the flavours were good and the bread was perfect. Go when you have a little time to spare, the service is warm but on the slow side.
  • First time in here and we received the warmest welcome! The owner recommended the chicken & prawn spring rolls and the fishcake Pho, and they were both Pho-nominal! :P honestly the best spring rolls I think I've ever had, and the homemade fishcake Pho was a nice change from my normal beef choice. Saw someone with the sticky lotus leaf dish and it looked good, so think I'll try that next time. We will definitely be back soon.. friendly service, fresh and tasty produce and comfortable decor make this a real gem of a place!
  • Love this hidden treasure! We've been looking for a good place for Pho in Edinburgh and finally found it. Plus the owner is very friendly. Great atmosphere as well!
