  • Very good information about the different regions and their organoleptic differences. Our tour guide John was very nice and funny and has us most the end of tour is still something about whisky discussed. Of a few hints gave us as well as the barman Cody for our collection at home of rather lesser-known Distillerys.

  • The silver tour made and enjoyed it very much. Initially it is carried in "Barrels" the creation process of whiskies, then there is a movie about the five different regions with typical whiskies, the one dispensing of whiskies with more information about taste a room with more information about whiskey, and Ingredients and whiskeys in the room with the largest collection of unopened then the tasting of selected. Then you can whiskies in the next room in addition to the try buy, where, in the price included tasting glass used must be kept. Children under 18 receive a non-alcoholic, typical Scottish drink instead of the whisky. There are still four more tours and the whole thing ends in a shop. A guide in English, this can be in several different languages audio guides free use, so tour in different languages can be used in the progress. Questions on the guide but only in the languages he speaks. Overall very successful for beginners of the whisky and advanced. Intensive whisky lovers can take the (more expensive) tours are tailored to them.

  • My husband and I did the Taste of Scotland tour which included the Platinum tour and supper in Amber Restaurant. The tour was fantastic! The guide was knowledgeable (Eoin I believe was his name) and funny and made the experience so much more enjoyable than I expected. The supper component was by and far one of the best meals I have ever had. The portions are huge and the ingredients so fresh and flavorful (I literally cut the steak with my butter knife it was so tender). I was leery of the price because I am Canadian and exchange rates are not kind but it was worth every penny. The meal alone was worth the cost. If you have the opportunity to do this tour, pay the extra and add on the supper, you will not regret it.
  • The tour was good. I enjoyed the video profiling the characteristics of the different whisky making regions. My only complaint is there's not enough time. They shuffle you through too quickly. How do you take in the largest whisky collection in the world in 5 mins?
  • Discover the world of whisky in the best way possible. Going in the morning was an excellent way to start off a day of exploring Edinburgh, not to busy and great finishing with an aperitif dram. Our guide Gary was knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his know-how with the group. The silver tour itself is a perfect introduction to those who want to learn about Scotch Whisky, though definitely worth going for the Gold Whisky Tour if you want to taste the different particularities of each region. I'd love to make it back to the Scotch Whisky Experience and try out the Morning Master Class or a dinner pairing on their Taste of Scotland tour.
  • A bit of a late review as I visited in April, but I found the experience enjoyable. The tour at the beginning is a little twee, but gives you a bit of background to the whole whisky making experience. The talk by the guide was really interesting, and the "scratch and sniff" cards really helped to understand how the different locations affect the whisky. The whisky collection was a whisky lovers dream, and the best place to sample your wee dram. I paid for the gold tour so got to taste four different varieties in the bar whilst looking out onto a lovely view of Edinburgh. Well worth the money.
  • I'd been into the shop loads of times but when my cousin came to town we did a tour - I have to say that despite being to 10+ various distilleries and being informed on the process of whisky making, this was nevertheless an interesting and unique experience. Absolutely fantastic and it's now on my to-do list for people who come to visit the city.
