  • I have never been a whisky drinker but when in Scotland, you can not miss out on a whisky experience! I did check out TA first on recommendations for whisky experience and this popped in. Since my hot...  read more »

  • We went as complete whisky novices and did a gold tour, our logic being that there was no point tasting whisky with no knowledge, and nothing to compare it to. The tour "ride" broke down whilst we wer...  read more »
  • Terrible time. We had a rookie tour guide "trainee" on his name tag, who accused our group of 7 people, several times of being solely responsible for over crowding the tour group when it was SWE that over booked it. Unprofessional rude and stressed out come to mind describing this tour guide. 'Barrel' ride was a cheesy joke. If you know anything about whiskey, you'll feel it's a waste of time. We were ready to spend money here and left as quickly as we could.
  • Just phenomenal!! If you like whiskey, I simply couldn't recommend the Platinum Tour more. The price might seem a little steep at first, but when you realise just how incredible this exclusive experience is, you will soon realise just how good a deal it is. Hugh was our guide, and after a quick tour of the history of Scotch whiskey and how it is made, we quickly dove into the main attraction. A guided tasting of four archetypical Scotch whiskeys, with a thorough and useful focus on how to best approach your own personal enjoyment of the drink. Hugh was charming, intelligent, polite to a fault, and incredibly knowledgeable on both the drink and the museum he was curating. I was blown away by the experience, and will happily recommend it to anyone and everyone traveling to Edinburgh.
  • I was a little worried that this was basically a tourist trap but I was very surprised how awesome this was. Hugh was a great guide and he made this a fanatic experience. Very highly recommended to get the gold package.
  • Fantastic experience. Tried to sign up for the Taste of Scotland your which includes dinner, but were too late so if you're interested in that book a day or two ahead. Signed up for the Platinum tour which includes the barrel ride, four tastings and some time with the private collection they have. The guide was very knowledgeable and professional as he walked us through the tastings. It's very similar to a wine tasting and we learned a lot about the different regions and what a typical whiskey is like from each. The most impressive part of the tour is the collection. Over 3300 bottles in the collection with some really rare bottles.
  • Absolutely loved this place when I was there a few weeks ago. Yeah sure the barrel ride in the beginning is a little cheesy, but after the video and walk through of the process and explanation by the guides was great. The bottle collection room is MASSIVE and has an amazing collection of Scotch from all over the world. The tasting bar at the end of the tour is an amazing place to try many different types of scotch you may not be able to find back home, and if you do, the bottle is probably really expensive, like Johnny Walker Black label for instance is over $100 a bottle. For a 4cl taster, 4£ which is an amazing price! I was at a bar in Paris and they wanted €45 for the same amount! So try as many as you want while the pricing is good and enjoy it! Also on a side note, the view from the bar is fantastic.
