Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 3,400+ reviews on the web
A fun-packed, theme-driven experience, The Edinburgh Dungeon aims to plunge you into a scary and exciting recreation of the seedier aspects of Scottish history. Theater actors and storytellers complement the dungeon’s deliberately maudlin rides and exhibits through the use of black humor and monologues. Fully interactive, the facility aims to provide a more exciting and fun way to find out about the history of both Edinburgh and Scotland. • A real letdown. There was absolutely nothing scary about it. It was a total waste of time and money. The actors spoke so quickly, you hardly understood what they were saying. It was supposed to be a h...  read more »

  • Very well organized. The staff were very friendly and the dungeon is pretty spooky! They interact with the guests when they can, make it fun for everyone, and use simple technology quite well to make it fun. I would prefer if they had additional staff here and there hiding to scare people once in a while just to go the extra mile but very well done nonetheless!
  • Went to Edinburgh at the weekend and visited the Dungeons during my time there, absolutely fantastic. Amazing acting, the actors/actresses don't break character no matter what you say or do they can adapt well to anything that happens. It's full of suspense as you make your way around. You can expect some some jump scares during the experience that will get your heart racing. The scariest and freakiest part out of the whole experience is the boat ride, it is truly terrifying, I won't go into detail about it, you'll just have to go and find out for yourself. Worth the money, I highly recommend it!
  • A truly brilliant experience. Witty, educational, shocking and even scary at times. The staff are excellent. We were the 1st tour of the day but the characters all hit the ground running. From the humorous start to the wife terrifying end this was the highlight of our stay in Edinburgh. I can't recommend it enough.
  • Thought this was ace ... it is a bit pricey but it's with jumping on the Internet and prebooking even if it's just and hour before you wish to go. The gift shop is ace .. I was expecting this to be over priced to but it's not bad at all. Love the face you get your pictures taken and the team are so child friendly
  • Get ready for a scare! This place is fantastic, perhaps our favourite attraction in Edinburgh. Educated actors will scare the c*** out of you as you embark upon the guided tour. You will be convicted of horrific crimes (truthful or not) and watch ghosts appear and vanish before your eyes. Only word of advise is that your understanding of english should be quite high, since everything is conducted solely in english (with the lovely thick scottish accent).
