As title says, it was great. Lots of lovely little stalls, knickknacks, and food stalls. Things to try and we had the paella, massive portions from massive pans, and omg it was beautiful!  more »

On Sunday mornings, if you want to escape the crowds of tourists visiting the Castle and wander around the Royal Mile, walk a little bit and enjoy the feirinha of Stockbridge. It's nothing huge but offers attractions and local foods, as in the tent of shredded pork sandwiches and various sauces called Gusto: delirium!

  • People come from far and wide to this colourful and super lively market! All sorts of great things to eat: whether take-home or on the spot... There's great coffee, crepes, there's paella, there's even live music. A great variety of products and a fabulous atmosphere! Love it!
  • Tiny market, brimming with wonderful food and crafts, world cafe stalls, the smell of fresh coffee and the buzz of folks simply happy to be alive. . Some tables and chairs to grab a hot chocolate to dunk your fresh croissant in while a great guy sings a song to set your feet tapping. What a way to start your day. 9-3pm ish. Go !
  • Amazing little find. Stumbled on it by chance. Some great stalls selling their wares and fantastic food. Great on a sunny day
  • Colourful, bright and with great quality products. You can have lunch here or shop around. Lovely location!
  • Fantastic market in the heart of Edinburgh. A huge selection of fresh meat and fish can always be found here with plenty of cooked food also. Other stalls include knitwear, artwork, beer, gin and baked goods. The market is always busy and there will always be something you want to buy so bring a bag and some cash.

Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.
