  • As title says, it was great. Lots of lovely little stalls, knickknacks, and food stalls. Things to try and we had the paella, massive portions from massive pans, and omg it was beautiful!  more »
  • On Sunday mornings, if you want to escape the crowds of tourists visiting the Castle and wander around the Royal Mile, walk a little bit and enjoy the feirinha of Stockbridge. It's nothing huge but offers attractions and local foods, as in the tent of shredded pork sandwiches and various sauces called Gusto: delirium!

  • I had a lot of fun looking around, eating, and shopping at this little market. Even though this market is pretty compact, there was a good variety of shops, from foods to jewelry. And there are a few tables and seats set up at one end. The pear pastry I got at one shop was very tasty, and the tea I bought at another shop is really good as well. Really nice people selling their goods.
  • A real find. Lots of handmade goods, local jewellery, and international range of food stalls. On the day I bought a hanwrought handbag made of jewel encrusted metal for my wife, and a handcrafted leather covered diary with metal clasp, a similar whiskey flask for myself, some local honey, a Moussaka, some paella, a few baklava etc etc. I will return.
  • Most stalls were still setting up at the 10am official start time. Best to arrive a little bit after 10, to let the stall holders get ready for you, but don't arrive too late as the market gets crowded very quickly. Many interesting stalls, some selling food to eat straight away, some selling food to cook at home. The two Italian girls selling Italian Cheese were super friendly and eager to sell you nice wedge.
  • The Stockbridge Market had a good mixture and food and drinks. It was busy but not to an uncomfortably level. A particular highlight was the Arepas which were delicious!
  • Great market every Sunday. Has the feel of a Paris market in a great way with unique Scottish products and a lovely location just by the water of Leith bridge. Classic

Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.
