  • Can't wait for this to be re-incarnated as there is literally nothing there at present, hurry up and give us a lovely new centre!
  • So glad that after all these years of waiting the centre is to finally close for demolition. John Lewis are remaining during the work and will be opening onto the new centre when completed. What is co...  read more »
  • Only store left open is John Lewis You can still access through the main entrance at the east end of Princes Street but there is no link through to the bus station. The whole site is due for demolitio...  read more »
  • Great John Lewis store over five floors is the main draw. Has a good coffee shop and restaurant on the 5th floor. Centre undergoing redevelopment in 2016 to add shops hotel apartments and car parking. Such a great store.
  • The St James's trump card is John Lewis. Aside from that there are plenty of pound shops and mediocre food places. Top tip: enter from the side or the back... Then you can get straight to JL without passing all the shops you don't want to go to.
  • This is the biggest mall I've been in Edinburgh. Has a parking lot in another near building that you can get thru a connecting tunnel/bridge. It's not very intuitive to more around inside the mall tho!
  • Be warned: the vast majority of units are vacant, so unless you know which shop you want visit, then there's not much point going here. Not sure if rent is too high, or if the landlord is letting leases expire deliberately. A shameful waste of space.
  • Fairly generic shopping centre at the East end of Princes Street - always seems to be pretty busy so it must be doing something right. The highlight is the big John Lewis, spread over several floors. Other shops include the likes of superdrug, boots, poundland, rymans, dorothy perkins, river island, next, mountain warehouse. For the most part these stores can also be found elsewhere in Edinburgh and these branches are a bit smaller. There are also a few card shops and jewellers. Catering options include greggs, costa, millies cookies and a juice bar, plus theres the cafe within John Lewis.
