  • The statue stands in the eastern part of the new town of Edinburgh 300 metres northeast of Waverley station at Picardy place. It was unveiled in 1991 in commemoration of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was born in the immediate vicinity. The bronze figure shows dressed in a typical for him, very thoughtful pose the detective hat and coat. In his right hand he holds his pipe. The monument meets Sherlock Holmes to 100 percent. This pose has gesture probably everyone ever him saw. But where is his loyal Assistant Watson. We missed the.

  • Beautiful statue. Very good details. Good to see him back again. However there was a lot of litter and rubbish which spoilt it a bit. We should take better care of our heroes! Well worth a visit though.
  • This an important milestone for fans of Sherlock Holmes, to mark the birthplace of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
