This place offers a very good range of herb plants all well taken care of. The food was good but the salad was a scanty few herby leaves so not good value. The cakes unfortuneately had two flies on th...  more »

  • The food, coffee and cake were delicious, the people were lovely and so was the place. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a friend, but 4/5 instead of 5/5 because 1) my portion of quiche was a bit small and 2) tea came in an enamel mug, which was untouchably hot for frickin' ages. There's a reason god invented china - it's so that you can drink your tea without burning your hands and mouth less than 20 minutes after it's been poured.
  • Beautiful gardens and glass houses, lovely crafts and art to buy, cafe absolutely amazing but expensive. Food is worth the price though, the cakes especially! Worth a trip out of town. They also host workshops and weddings and other events here.
  • Went for some lunch and a stroll around. The food was incredibly overpriced - nearly £6 for a small slice of quiche with some leaves by the side. Tasty, but come on! Also, a very small albeit tasty potion of soup at about £5. Eye-popping! The enamel cups for self-serving water are a nice idea, but we couldn't find any that didn't have broken rims which is unhygienic and not nice to drink from.
  • Fantastic place- lovely staff, great home made soup, delicious cakes , scones & tea- great place to sit and catch up with friends and family. Toys for the kids, and even some pigs and chickens to see! Lovely- well worth a visit!
  • Nice place popcorn is G and there is a old taxi and a beetle which is really fun which kids can go in staff are helpful and nice 👍🏻 remember to go to cars 🚗

Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.
