  • Didn't have time to sample the freshly produced menu that you can choose to sample in the vast greenhouses or cosy cafe but was impressed with the vastness of the premises and what was on offer. From ...  read more »
  • This is a hidden gem and perfect for a spot of lunch/treat after a walk in the Peatlands! The menu is limited, however I had the quiche which was lovely and there appeared to be a variety of cakes and...  read more »
  • Love the Secret Herb Garden. Have visited on several occasions since it opened and never been disappointed. Varied selection of cakes and my favourite choice - cheese and herb scones. Lovely to sit in...  read more »
  • Make a pilgrimage once in a while to the Secret Herb Garden. Great to get away from it all without having to travel too far. You can have a nice wander round the grounds, explore the greenhouse, or just go for a coffee and cake. Also buy some of their beer - it's rather good!
  • It's a pity it's not secret because it's a beautiful and charming place, but is becoming more and more popular. Very child-friendly Interesting (though not always excellent) cakes
  • Our first visit took much longer than anticipated as there's so much to see. I won't spoil it for you by spelling out the many attractions. We've got friends arriving next month and this will definitely be on our "to-do" list with them. The only frustration was waiting in a queue behind people ordering lunch (slowly) in order to buy some plants. This could surely be better managed, especially as four staff were behind the counter! I'll check this out for improvement next month. If the owner is as go-ahead as we've already seen evidence of, this is surely a no-brainer and will get a quick-fix.
  • A trip here is a real experience! The owners are popping up around every corner, making conversation, talking about the plants and making everybody feel at home. The teas and coffees are amazing, and there's usually a great selection of cakes too. Sitting out in the huge conservatory with a hot drink is fantastic. The only negative is the sideline focus of holistic / alternative therapy - I could do without that!
  • The secret herb garden is a wonderful place to spend a few free hours. The grounds house a plethora of herbs and plants in a beautiful setting and the owners are passionate and knowledgeable. There is an orchard and a bee sanctuary where they make and sell honey. For the children there is a magical fairy walk to embark on, there is also a cafe and little shop that sells produce from the garden including the most amazing beer made from the herbs! A lovely piece of tranquillity so close to the city.
