Princes Street, Edinburgh
(2.9/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
Experience the heart of Edinburgh by strolling historic Princes Street. The 1.6 km (1 mi) long street is lined with shops, restaurants, and monuments. Although it's one of the city’s main thoroughfares, it is only open to pedestrians and public transportation. Spend the day shopping at one of the street’s many well-known stores, or stroll through the gardens that border the south edge. With very few buildings on this end, you can enjoy unobstructed views of Old Town and the Edinburgh Castle. Stop for a coffee and enjoy the skyline at one of the many south-facing cafes. Princes Street is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Edinburgh Edition.

  • In front of the train station, many shops and pubs Several Good hotels to do buy on New Town to 10 minutes walk from the Castle and the Old Town is worth a visit
