  • We went for the soft play and to have a look at the Royal Yacht. Free parking so that's great. We liked the soft play area, although a bit pricey. They also had no food about an hour before closing so that was disappointing. My girls loved the pretend shop and pizza place.
  • As a shopping centre its not great...needs more good shops! Jewellery and mobile phone shops dominate the ground floor and its mostly restaurants on the top floor (and a good portion of the middle one as well). If it wasn't for the Vue cinema I probably wouldn't go very often - as it is I go almost every week!
  • Of course, you visit it for the Britannia. The ship is fantastically preserved and the tour is excellent. The shopping and eating options are good, I guess. Connectivity is good, with regular buses. Ample parking is available in and around the mall.
  • Excellent eating and socialising opportunities. Some good shops with plenty of space to take the kids. Now has a skate and board park inside!
  • Good selection of typical shopping centre retail shops, plus a few extra somewhat pricey options. Clean and spacious with decent facilities. Cinema and gym are both good. Lots of restaurant options but all get really busy peak times, worth booking in advance on a weekend.

Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.
