Murrayfield Ice Rink is very good, fun place to go with friends and family. Staff members are very good at helping customers. But t has be said that the 1930s building Is in need of some renovation.  more »

We visited the rink last week for a major national ice dance competition. I love this old rink, it has a character that is just missing in these modern rinks. People are always friendly and welcoming....  more »

  • Toilets there are absolutely disgusting and look as if they haven't been cleaned for months. Skates are very unhigenic but what can you really expect from £1:80 hired (good price but most definitely should still be cleaned.) Staff are very rude and not helpful, I couldn't step foot on the ice because I didn't like the idea of wearing the minging skates on my feet for more than 5 minutes and I asked for a refund but told I wasn't allowed. Not a single sign to say no refunds available when to be honest with the state most of the facilities are in they should give people there money back. The ice rink itself doesn't look too bad but the rest of the place is very disappointing.
  • Great value at around 6 pound for two hours worth of skating on weekday evenings, including skate hire! Website lays out what times are free for general skating, family visits, and even special lesson times. A great treat for those looking to either escape the madness around the Christmas market, or folks wanting to try something new, or family outings!
  • There's nothing like sitting in an old rink surrounded by history and 800 other hockey fans watching the sport you love.
  • Been here for decades and always a great time . Skates are for hire and there are lessons available. All housed in an art deco building
  • Ice rink is old. I mean really old but you won't find a more family friendly atmosphere during ice hockey anywhere in Scotland.

Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.
