  • Passed a few minutes and some interesting elements inside, however the first few external points didn't grab our attention, maybe because neither of us is an architect. Worth a visit if you are passin...  more »
  • The house was a treasure but it was the staff that put this over the top. They were extremely knowledgeable and were willing to answer all my question. A great stop on High Street.  more »
  • In the morning we were in the John Knox house. It is a very separate House. Mid-15th century. One of the oldest of Edinburgh well-preserved complexes. We were alone, but.. not long ago you could follow everything through an audio tour. This is no more and so you should read everything on a map that you get. This is unfortunate because it speaks less to the imagination. With audio you very very much to offer more such as the mix of urban sounds and voices at the same time as the things that you are watching. I have this is a experienced during visit to castles. I missed out on the somehow information. You could also not really relaxed reading. The upper room is beautiful with the painted ceiling. I think the old stuff in that House not authentic by from that House. I think going on tour would be much more out of it. I also missed specific books of the House. Anyway, John Knox was an important figure from the time from mid-15 century. He was kerkreformer and a great enemy of the Catholic queen Mary. He preached at St. Gyles Cathedral close. The combination visit Hall and the Cathedral would be nice for a morning filling.

  • Small museum tells the story of 1 of the reformers in 16th century Europe. Small café with delicious meals for a reasonable price.
  • It's alright if you're interested in history and religion, but we were done after just 30 minutes
  • Nice little quirky place to go in my favourite part of edinburgh
  • I found this interesting. But not for my son cost me £5 for a family ticket so i can't fault it.small museum and a real old building dates back to 1500
  • I am not a history buff, so for me it wasn't very interesting as there wasn't anything amazing or unique.

Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town.
