Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.

  • My friend from Edinburgh brought me here saying he goes here since he was a child and this is the best fudge in Edinburgh. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was great and the very friendly staff offered us a free sample of any kind of fudge. I guarantee as soon as you taste some, you can't say no. This fudge is just too good. I ended up buying a very large slice of chocolate fudge with sea salt and I'm fighting myself trying to not eat it all in one go. The staff will always recommend something different and will explain how it's made and how they use the same 1830's recipe. If you are a tourist in Edinburgh, this is definitely worth a visit!
  • Loved the fact that they are not being cheap with the tastings... It is so great trying out the different flavors... just pure fun! and really tasty products. Among all the tourist traps this is a lovely pearl!
  • Very friendly staff! Had a nice chat with the young man and the slightly older gentleman both very witty and pleasant! Free samples - always a plus! A cool money wall is present behind the till which adds to the character! They're looking for an Armenian note! Fudge was very nice. You can see them making it!
  • Lovely wee place. Amazing dairy free fudge as well as a huge range of flavours of dairy fudge. Free samples, great atmosphere and, if you get there at the right time you get to see them making the fudge. What could be better than that?
  • The fudge kitchen put on regular shows of fudge-making which is always brilliant for kids to see. The fudge itself is excellent and not very expensive. There are usually samples on the counter which you can try.
