  • The new Tiger Tracks is brilliant. I bought a zoo pass so I could bring my daughter and come here once a week. Penguins stink, rhino stinks, but they're great fun. Loads of usual and unusual animals. You always miss the ones that aren't there but they have loads to see and great coffee at the penguin rocks cafe. Worth the money on an annual pass.
  • Excellent Zoo that really puts the animals first and that is continually upgrading. The penguin walk (google it!) is magical, although some smaller children may be scared. Very limited GF options in the cafe, and food in general is expensive and not their strong point, but it is a wonderful day. NB that the "bus" that used to go to the top of the hill no longer runs, except if it is booked by those with accessibility issues, and that the hill is VERY steep and some of the more interesting big cats and the Zebras are a fair walk up the hill.
  • Great zoo. Penguins and monkeys best bits. Panda asleep inside. Good for hill walking!
  • A great place to go with the kids. If you live in Edinburgh and plan to go more than once a year it's much more affordable to get membership. The food has massively improved over the last few years.
  • A very well run modern zoo. Lots of information on conservation projects the zoo is involved in. Quite a climb as the zoo is on the side of a hill but the view at the top is worth it! Food is a bit pricey but there are good picnic spots
