  • Quite simply the VERY BEST fresh fish shop I have ever seen in the entire United Kingdom. Today was my first visit and I was SO impressed that I felt compelled to leave a review. VARIETY was awesome many of the fish were still live and the FRESHNESS of their fare truly amazed me. This rather small shop had far too many tasty delicious fresh fish choices to make any easy decision. Halibut we had for lunch was 10 out of 10, LIVE in shell oysters await the smoker for dinner, where the Salmon fillets will share their fate. The king SCALLOPS were the largest I have ever seen, I will be returning for those, and a live Lobster out of their tank. Outstandingly ?? there was NOT the slightest smell of fish ....this place was impeccably CLEAN as could be, and the staff were nothing less than fabulous. I did NOT consider the prices expensive (I see some whingers did) I do know that discovering Eddie's Seafood Market will cost me a lot of money while in Edinburgh, WELL SPENT to be sure !! The rest, spent elsewhere, ? will just be wasted :-)
  • Since moving back to Scotland 2 years ago, I have been a regular visitor to Eddie's. With a vast selection of fish and seafood, the only difficult thing is deciding what to choose. Compared with other fishmongers in Edinburgh and indeed Scotland, since I've been known to drive to Fraserburgh for halibut, their prices are exceptionally competitive and excellent value for money, because you know what you're going to get. Why? Because the standards of service, helpfulness and friendliness are beyond what would be normal 5-star anywhere else. My highest recommendations for Eddie's for anyone who likes seafood.
  • Great Fishmongers, nice variety of fresh fish and seafood. They sell very good quality seafood at fair prices. Well worth a detour. For visitors of Edinburgh, considering a rental with kitchen facilities is a great idea if only to cook the seafood bought from Eddie's.
  • The most important factor when I choose the area of air bnb is near the Eddie's seafood market so that I can cook seafood dinner. I had some seafood meals in restaurants in Edinburgh last year but felt very disappointed, so this time I decided to cook by myself. All the seafood in Eddie's market is fresh。
  • It is a family own business and everybody, brothers, sister, wife... work there. The variety of fish is such that you'll find what you want and fresh.
