  • This is a great spot to start or finish a walk on Arthur's Seat. Beside the village church in Duddingston. The adjacent loch was the location for one of Raeburn's finest paintings. There is a Playfair...  read more »
  • A lovely quiet and tranquil garden, with lots of nooks and cranny''s in which to sit and contemplate the world go by.
  • As one of those things that you go by chance and get a pleasant surprise. Gardens are not very large, but they are very nice, very well care, variety Botany and in a very nice location with Lake and the birds that exist.

  • Lovley place you will able to sit there for hours... bit confusing to enter though...if you are coming from church lane its on left just before duddingston church
  • Hidden away just behind Duddingston Kirk lies Dr Neil's Garden, a beautifully, secluded garden that is perfect for a little afternoon stroll. To enter, go through the gate called Manse House, turn right and cross diagonally over the patch of grass. There you enter into the garden, full of flowers, winding paths and seats to sit and stare out onto Duddingston loch. I definitely recommend you go in the spring when the colours in the garden are starting to come to life.
  • Hidden behind Arthur's Seat, Dr Neils Garden is a beautiful and tranquil place to spend a sunny day. There's a small trail around the gardens, a huge variety of plants and herbs to discover and a lovely pond. There's lots of benches dotted around too, so it's easy to find somewhere to sit and enjoy the view!
  • Gorgeous hidden gem. Especially on a sunny day.
  • Beautiful botanical park on the banks of a lake. Arriving by bus is tricky but not impossible
