  • Exhibitions and art on five floors. Often free, but also a few "pay to enter" exhibitions throughout the year. Also usually plays key role in science festival. Good value cafe on ground floor.
  • Nice building and very helpful staff , displays a bit boring tho looking a little tired , I think the Art centre would benefit from displays of local artists work as some of the shops in the city had amazing work available of all genres . We liked the Edinburgh national gallery it had some beautiful paintings and a wonderful gift shop.
  • Five floors of art! If you like art galleries, you'll love this one. I loved the Edinburgh Alphabet exhibition! Would have liked to spend more time here, but had to catch a train.
  • Exhibition, lecture and workshop space over five floors (with offices on the sixth). There's a separately run cafe on the ground floor a shop. Travelling exhibitions are a regular feature but other gallery space is devoted to the extensive collection of Scottish art held in the secure basement levels.
  • Love this place. The space is amazing! And we went for the science festival! Which was fantastic

Where to stay in Edinburgh

Edinburgh hides a maze of cobbled streets dotted with boutique hotels offering inexpensive rooms and outstanding restaurants. Many of the city's Gothic buildings house chic hotels with easy access to most of the city’s main tourist sites. For a uniquely Scottish experience, consider staying in the famous old town. Despite being in this historical district, many hotels here feature contemporary decor with lots of glass walls and muted color schemes. They’re also known for offering spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and restaurants serving classic European cuisine, with a modern Scottish twist.
