  • The museum and visitors centre has been open since August 2014. It tells the story of HM Factory Gretna – The largest munitions factory of its type built in the First World War. Using interactive displays and artifacts it is a great place for visitors wanting to know more about what happened and the casual visitor will find it interesting. There is much to keep younger visitors engaged - there is a café and small shop and the staff are very helpful.
  • Very interesting new museum (2015) revealing the surprising hidden secrets of the WW1 cordite factory staffed mainly by women.
  • Great little museum with lots of great information. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
  • Nice, but coffee and sandwiches are expensive
  • Brand new visitor centre hosting interactive displays to keep kids entertained but plenty of interest for adults wanting to learn about what was apparently the largest factory in Europe. Sets the whole operation in its historical context. Note that location on Google maps is currently (9/8/14) incorrect as it has just moved into new building. Check website. Staff very friendly and helpful with disabled visitors.
