  • We live locally and visit once or twice a year. I visited today to find no exhibits, just an empty building. I have found out this is because of the worsening conditions in the building. However, there was nothing to indicate this and full prices are still being charged! I feel that the same price cannot be justified when there is nothing to see other than the building.
  • Staff and volunteers are passionate about the history and the re enactment brings life back into the place
  • An attraction in Eastbourne that is often overlooked as it is a little outside the town centre; the Redoubt is nonetheless worth a visit. There is a lot more to see than you would think from merely walking past, it is easy to while away an afternoon taking in local history and seeing how the soldiers would have lived in both Napoleonic and later times. The Outpost CafĂ© within the fortress is a pleasant place for a cuppa and a bite to eat and you don't have to pay the entrance fee to use it. Entrance to the parade ground and gun platform are also free if you fancy sticking your toe in the water before paying to enter the main buildings. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the place. As with most museums the exhibits are changed around each season so even if you have visited in the past it's well worth another look.
  • A lot more to see than at first glance. Staff are kind and knowledgeable.
  • Good for sight seers, Brilliant for educational purposes.. Good place to waste abit of time and big
