Eastbourne Pier, Eastbourne

3.4
Enjoy a cup of cream tea at Eastbourne Pier, an old-fashioned seaside wharf that has long been a favorite hangout for both local families and passing tourists. The site once included several traditional pier theaters, the last one of which was destroyed by fire in 1970. Today, on the landward half of the pier stand a bar, nightclub, fish and chip kiosk, amusement arcade, and a fast food outlet. Farther out are a small cafe, restaurant, clothing shop, and a tattoo parlor. The tower at the end of the pier is often used as a convenient viewing point during the annual air show. Drop by on a quiet evening to soak up the atmosphere and mingle with the locals. See Eastbourne Pier and all Eastbourne has to offer by arranging your trip with our Eastbourne attractions planner .

A lovely Victorian Tea room on here, with a choice of different menu items. I recommend the Sussex Cream tea, with scone, jam, cream and tea. Lovely!  more »

We spent a few hours on a very busy day with the Airshow going on around on the pier. Lots to see and do with plenty of food and drink outlets. Certainly worth a visit and a long walk along it.  more »

Eastbourne seems to be a very calm and quiet place to be. The pier is nice but lacks in things to do, and there doesn't seem to be much to do. Although it is nice to see it once, it's not something th...  more »

  • Traditional seaside pastime . Pier is in fairly good repair constantly painted. All the domes are painted gold now. Just needs the lights that were damaged in fire to be replaced. Victorian tea rooms nice place to visit. Well done to new owner.
  • Great place to visit alone or with other people. Includes great views of the sea while you have fish and chips. Pros : big open space, fish and chips and ice cream available at entrance, sightseeing bus stop right outside, nightclub, tea room. Lots of benches to sit on. Cons. Some floor planks look they need nails or replacing.
  • I love the pier for the easy access. You have a choice of food outlets. However slight downside you are not supposed to take your own food on.
  • Lovely pier, lots of open space and plenty of places to sit. Fish and chip shop at the entrance that serves fairly good food at reasonable prices, lovely tea room in the centre and pub at the end with nic nac shops along the length. Great place to visit and even have lunch, a cuppa or a pint.
  • Nice pier. Preferred it pre fire as amusements were better but still an important part of Eastbourne
