  • I wanted to be sure still two days of hiking go this year and decided for two stages of the John Muir Trail. I walked from Linlithgow to Edinburgh and very much enjoyed the time. Watching the stage from Linlithgow to South Queensferry was really great and very varied, with several points of interest along the way. Only downside for me was the Wegebeschaffenheit. Me it was overall significantly too much asphalt or gravel. Therefore, I really enjoyed the brilliant stretches of beach on the second day of Queensferry for Edinburgh. Unfortunately I had only two days, but these two days were really full with great views and beautiful castles. The signs looked super, at the junction of one or the other, I then but looked better on the map, these but seldom used. The route through Cramond I found quite monotonous and was pleased then to arrive in Edinburgh. All in all there were two great days on good denoting routes, food and accommodation was well along the route, so perfect for a short walking sightseeing vacation!
