  • Even though my visit co-incided with some rather poor weather I found Easby Abbey, originally a house of the small Premonstratensian Order, well worth seeing. Regretfully, like many of houses of the s...  more »
  • We took a very pleasant gentle round walk from the town to the Abbey. The Abbey itself was quite comprehensive and very well laid out. The little church next door was charming.  more »
  • The site is privately owned with an honesty box for visitors. Location near the river is very pleasant. Lots of green space and ideal location to take the children.  more »

  • On our way to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, my wife and I stopped at The Station in Richmond for a coffee. We noted that there was an easy off-road walk to Easby Abbey and, as we had the time, we decided to take it. We were so glad that we did! The walk is along a leafy lane and over a bridge to the extensive ruins of the Abbey. Around the area there were lots of explanatory signs so that one could imagine the place in its heyday. The history was fascinating and the Abbey was very picturesque. We continued the circular walk alongside the river back to our car. An hour and a half well spent.
  • Love having a wander around here as part of our frequent Richmond circular walk. Interesting, but a peaceful place for a picnic too.
  • No entry fee, information signs around the site. Definitely worth a visit and can be reached by a circular river walk from centre of Richmond
  • Its free and its a beautiful place. Plenty of info around the abbey as you explore.
  • Beautiful historic site with visiting. Surrounded by countryside and close to the River Swale, it's a nice place to have a walk out to if you're in Richmond.
