  • Small Cemetery in the centre of Dundee which has many old and interesting headstones giving a historical insight into old Dundee. A few seats to relax on in a busy city centre.
  • Full of character, with a great history
  • Beautiful grave stones with intriguing skull & cross bone markings.
  • The Howff Burial Grounds were established in 1564 by Mary, Queen of Scots, and includes graves up to 1857. I have a particular interest in historical grave markers and, given this, visited many cemeteries in Scotland. The Howff had, by far, the best collection of 16th-19th century tombstones and memorials I've come across. If you're interested in old cemeteries, this is well worth going out of your way to visit. In my case, I came to Dundee exclusively for The Howff, and I was not disappointed.
  • It's a small cemetery but it's very nice and interesting, with a little mist surrounding the graves... much better :)
  • Love the pictures
