  • Brilliant day out, despite the rain, almost made it more fun as very Jurassic Park! So much hard work has obviously gone into the place, really impressive. Soft play lovely too.
  • Really did not know what to expect from this place to be honest - ordinarily when someone speaks of a garden centre with a Dino park you tend not to expect too much, however we were pleasantly surprised. We paid £24 for a family of 5 - (3 of which were children) which is extremely reasonable considering that the price included entry to the Dino park itself and also to the indoor soft play area. The Dino park has a number of life sized Dinosaurs that are displayed in a way that seems realistic in its surroundings. Along with each dinosaur is a display board detailing the history and lifestyle habits of each individual creature. There is a small cave that you can enter to explore a hidden world and further along you are greeted with a 'dig' that your child can explore to uncover fossil remains. Further along is an outdoor play area and bouncy castle with a little tea shop and from there you can enter a 'fairy' land to discover the tales and mysteries of fairies. To be honest the fairy tale section was not for me but I could see how it could be captivating to small children. As you leave the Dino park you can then enter the indoor soft play area where your child or children can safely play for hours whilst you sit and have something to eat and drink. The food and drink are a little overpriced in my opinion but overall a very enjoyable experience with very little financial outlay. The rest of the site consists of a gift shop and general garden centre offerings as well as a separate cafe/restaurant. Please see our video review on Youtube.
  • Great place for kids although a bit pricey. As adults, we felt a bit let down by the fixed dinosaur area rather than what we thought would be moving Dinosaurs like they had at Edinburgh zoo a few years ago. Kids loved it though.
  • Newly installed soft play is amazing, great garden centre with lovely cafe and seasonal events throughout the year including Santa's grotto.
  • Fantastic place let your kids imagination run wild. Lost my husband and 3 young grand kids for 3 hrs + brilliant....

Where to stay in Dumfries

As Dumfries is just a small city within the Dumfries and Galloway region, the city itself is somewhat limited on places to stay. You'll find a handful of mid-range to high-end hotels in the city--if you're intent on being based in Dumfries, it's best to book early to avoid disappointment. Otherwise, there are plenty of options in nearby cities and towns such as Sanquhar, Lockerbie, Auchencairn, and Thornhill.
