  • Just a short hop from Dumbarton these gardens are magnificent in spring with the bluebell woods and the spectacular Rhododendrons. Well worth a visit at anytime of year but especially in spring.  more »
  • This was my first visit here, and it will certainly not be the last. This is a real hidden gem - not so hidden really, but easy to drive past to more well known places and not go in. The rhododendrons...  more »

  • It doesn't look massive on the map but this wonderfully crafted garden's paths weave around the wooded valley and walled garden areas so skillfully that it feels much bigger and you can easily wander for an hour or two. There is a small but well made play area. Views over the Clyde or north to the hills behind add an extra bonus.
  • Beautiful peaceful gardens, well maintained and a riot of colour at time of visit with Azaleas in full flower
  • We went here for the Cadbury's Easter hunt 2017 and then on to the hunts at the Hill house (10 mins away)and Loch Lomond (Ardess Lodge), about 45 mins further. The boys liked that this hunt had a helpful clue at the end to unscramble the letters. This hunt was a very good one in terms of taking us right round the garden, was good practice for following directions and an introduction to the creature who live here. It was also one of the cheapest ones, being £1/child while there is variation between properties. The gardens are peaceful. There is a kitchen garden and orchard, a walled garden and areas with a woodland feel. We were so involved in the trail that we forgot to go to the ?kids playground and did not see it and it was starting to rain as we finished. Note there is no tea room here but we were told about one down the road. We were very warmly welcomed and oriented on arrival by smiling Anita who was lovely. The whole team here was great and gave the place a really good feeling.
  • Huge variety of daffodils, beautifully mossy paths and a delightful stream running through it. As soon as we entered this garden my 7year old claimed it as her own. It's a lovely place for children as it has so many winding paths. The mossy paths were the best, she says.
  • I spent over 2 very happy, Autumn hours yesterday discovering the gardens, woodland & river walks at Geilston. A peaceful wee treasure. What will it be like in Summer?
