Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition, Drumnadrochit

2.8
#2 of 9 in Things to do in Drumnadrochit
Become part of the "Nessie" mania at Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition, presenting the natural history of the area and exploring the legend of a mysterious creature that has fascinated the world for decades. Separating truth from fiction, the center uses a combination of media to show visitors what really lives in these deep waters. Find out what has actually been discovered and see the authentic equipment used to navigate and search the immense lake, which contains more fresh water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined. Boat cruises operate from various locations on the shore, giving visitors a chance to spend a day looking for the legendary monster, or simply to enjoy the surrounding scenery. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition and many more Drumnadrochit attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Drumnadrochit itinerary maker.

The whole experience is very poor value for money. The self guided tor takes you through different rooms where you are played different videos. Slightly interesting for adults, a bit dull for teenager...  more »

Informative, lots of facts and scientific information but not a fun place. Wish we'd gone to Nessieland just down the road, apparently it's more folklore and fun based.. and there's a monster photo op...  more »

Informative. I thought they might have pushed the idea that the Loch Ness monster is real but they tried to prove that scientifically that it could not survive in the loch. Some interesting info but a...  more »

The exhibition was well done if a bit dated. The facts were well presented and all the angles were covered. It was very informative and factual, to the point where the science left little doubt regarding the monster. I left feeling informed, but robbed of some of the magic.

Very informative, videos explain how the legend started and just crushed every dream you could have of a monster living in the lake. I liked this museum because you didn't have to read a lot, it was mostly videos.

Lovely building and grounds. Gift shop prices are as can be expected. Was hoping for a nice ballcap and shot glass, but the selection just didn't meet expectation. Great staff.

You can explore the entire round of the old castle. The scenery is very beautiful. And the history is well explained. Very nice.

The tour is interesting but pretty outdated. It's actually pretty funny how bad the special effects are. Amazing to see how much merchandise can be imagined from an non-existent monster. Or does it...?
