  • Great golf course with traditional clubhouse atmosphere
  • I'd seen the Betchworth Park course from a previous visit to Box Hill. The course looked stunning from the vantage point on top of the hill and I was really looking forward to playing it. I booked a tee time via phone (very easy). Twilight golf after work is a great thing for those of us who work away from home. Cost £25.00 which seemed reasonable. First impressions on arriving in the car park was still one of excitement at playing the course. The club house is quite large and strangely overlooks the driving range which seemed a bit odd to me. Although the setting is beautiful with some stunning views, I felt the course itself to be a little disjointed and I can't believe this is the original design. When I played it was the second week of May and the greens were not in a good state. They were heavily sanded with a lot bare patches and pock marks, judging the speed was quite difficult. Some of the holes were crowned which again didn't make life easy. The people who were saw around the course were very friendly. After our game we went for a drink in the bar and hoped food might be available. Sadly only peanuts were on offer although the chef was still at work as a society were eating when we arrived in the bar. To be honest I didn't expect food to be available as it was 20:15 by this time. Overall I was left a little disappointed. I got the impression from holes in mats on the course, the lack of tarmac and potholes in the car park of a club a little cash strapped and cutting back. If this is the case then its a shame because with a little money spent (some moving of holes) this would be a stunning course.
  • This is a stunning and challenging course set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Staff are friendly and helpful and refreshments are excellent and reasonably priced.
  • Excellent Harry Colt Golf Course situated in Surrey with amazing views over Box Hill. A great test of golf for all levels of golfer. Full Membership, Flexible Membership, Academy membership, Functions, Parties, Weddings and more all available at the club.
