We have had a great day out here today. The entrance fee of £6.50 for an adult is very reasonable & with my RHS card I got in free as did my two children who are under 3. The animals are in pens that ...  more »

This place has great potential which is not realised. Sad to express this but perhaps under private ownership it would improve its act? Principal negatives are 1 Toilet facilities. Unbelievably, just ...  more »

  • Brilliant value for money. A great family day out. The kids can have fun with the animals and the play area and the adults can enjoy the flowers and walks round the gardens and lake. Highly recommended!
  • We came on an event day so didn't have the usual experience - I think I'd like to return and experience it on a quieter day! The animals seemed to be very well cared for, all enclosures were clean, tidy, secure and spacious. The cheeky lambs and goats delighted my son (animal feed a bargain in the shop - don't forget to pick up a bag!) The pony rides were well organised and the handlers were gentle and helpful with my shy boy. Staff throughout the park were welcoming and friendly even though it was incredibly busy and they were rushed off their feet. The gardens were a true delight - felt like so many secret corners to explore and the spring flowers make it stunning at this time of year. Anyone for croquet?? Shop and café are well priced, and the entrance fee is good value for money.
  • Lovely feel about the place. The animals seemed very happy and well looked after. We weren't bombarded with marketing opportunities. Very reasonable price.
  • For July, not very imaginatively planted and poorly maintained with lots of bare earth and weeds. For a horticultural college I would expect a lot more. The cafe toilets were awful too. Petting zoo and oversized piece of cake were it's only plus points.
  • The gardens are lovely. My husband and I spent about 4 hours looking round the gardens and there were nice little surprises in some of them. We walked round the lake and had a snack in the cafe by the entrance. We did not visit the animals but feel sure the children would enjoy a visit too. Good place for adults and families to enjoy when the weather us dry.
