  • A great way to entertain the children with lots of things to see when you leave the museum. Lots of interesting information on the Jurassic coast and the roman invasion. A morning well spent.  more »

  • A hidden away gem of a museum which has an astonishingly large and significant collection. Worth going to see the dinosaur bones, roman mosaics, archaeology collection or the Thomas Hardy collection. A small but beautiful set of painting are strewn throughout the buildings. The museum also boasts an incredible Victorian Gallery which opens up in the middle of the museum to great effect.
  • Realy good local museum plus vikings are cool though there is a lot of stuff in the draws below each exhibit that are very intresting and should have more on display
  • A very well organised Museum, with some explicit exhibitions, such as the Thomas Hardy's, Archaelogyand, the dinosaurs and the section with the resemplance of 19th century's house. The staff was very friendly and the prices reasonable. I recomend a visit at the Museum to everyone who is interesting in History, Archaeology and social sciences in general. Looking forward to visit it again with my children.
  • Even better now with the designed archeological section. Anybody interested in the history of Dorchester or Dorset shld come here first. Also a very nice coffee shop with reasonably priced drinks and cake. Very quiet and NO children
  • always worth a visit
