Sandall Park is a park in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. The park covers 69 acres and is located in Wheatley and is the one of the biggest leisure parks in Doncaster.HistoryBefore 1841 the land was the site of a brick works and the lake is a result of the extraction of clay from the area. It was 1940 before the park was officially opened as a park.FeaturesThe Park plays host to 3 football pitches and a fishing lake and a smaller lake. Prior to the 1980s the fishing lake had small boats for park users to use hence the park is known locally as the 'Boating Lake'. There are also 2 children playgrounds, one of which was built in 2010. The funding for the second playground came from central government through the playbuilder scheme and the Veolia Environmental Trust. The playground includes equipment which encourages children's balance and fitness and a children’s play train which reflects the heritage of the park as there was once a children's train in the park which was removed in the late 1970s. There are also 3 fitness trails with fitness equipment.Friends of Sandall ParkThe Friends of Sandall Park is a registered charity formed in 2003 which is committed to the promotion, support, assistance and regeneration of the park. In 2011 the group won the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. The award which is the equivalent to an MBE and is the highest award that can be made to a voluntary group was made for their continued efforts in the park which benefits both park visitors and wildlife. The group has also won awards locally including the pride in Doncaster Love Where You Live Award 2012, Doncaster Free Press Community Environmental Award.Use our Doncaster journey planner to add Sandall Park and other attractions to your Doncaster vacation plans.

Sandall Park Reviews
Very easy to park and get to. We often come for a walk round the lake which is a steady 20 minute stroll. We generally go round twice and the scenery is great more »
It’s a nice park with a nice cafe. Good for young children and a nice walk. Down side is lots of goose poo on the paths. more »
Fab bacon butties! kids enjoyed their dinners, something for everyone. Very reasonably priced and friendly helpful staff. more »
It's an ok park if your walking dog of going to the kids play areas. Just watch out for the geese as they are very aggressive here. Has basic toilets by the cafe. The cafe is very cheap and so is the food quality. I don't think there is much meat in those sausages. It's dirty and in desperate need of a lick of paint! It has an outside sitting area for the summer. The kids play area is very large with not much in it I'm afraid. Basic swings and large slide, keeps the kids entertained at least.
They could do with a splash park and more floral plants but other than that it's brilliant. Good facilities in the way of a decent sized cafe and toilets and parking. The grass areas are clear of rubbish and kept tidy.
Public toilets could do with doing up a bit. Park in general is great. Cafe good. Parking good. Loads of space and open ground.
The park itself is quite nice and useful. It has long paved trails for walking/jogging or dogwalking. There is a nice play area for children. In rain it can get muddy around the trails but the little roads themselves are okay. There is a cafe onsite as well which closes about 7PM. The toilet facility also is locked early but the park entry itself is always open. Because of the water it has some nice angles for nature photography.
Little ones enjoying the fenced in park, ice cream van came at 10.30 next to play park, nice cheap cafe next to car park and toilet facilities.
