  • Only had time to go into the Tea Room and the kids play park but fantastic atmosphere and grounds. Will definitely go back. May 2017 - returned to view the house and gardens in the sun. Brilliant. Great atmosphere. House under serious conservation but possibly a once in a lifetime aspect of how this is done. Gardens magnificent and great for the kids. Cafe very good but gets crowded quick. Be prepared for a long queue, or take a picnic and a flask and enjoy lunch in the gardens at your own pace.
  • Had a lovely time here. The cafe was not expensive, plenty of seating in several rooms indoors or outside. The gardens are well kept and its a nice walk to see them all. The hall was undergoing a big program of work so only had limited access and limited number of things that could be seen but was great to see what is being done and to have how and why explained. Had a brilliant time here.
  • Easy to access from a1. There are lovely gardens to walk around with interesting corners like a sunken rockery call the grotto, which my kids love. A nice playback suitable for probably 3 years plus and a nice cafe in the house. The house is being restored but if still worth a visit. There is a room upstairs tor children to try on hats and a few books and blocks about. They often have seasonal activities for kids like easter trails, bug hunts etc and the staff are always very friendly.
  • This is one of my favourite places to visit. The house and gardens are stunning and there is a nice cafe / tea rooms and a good gift shop too. Would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a nice relaxing day out.
  • Really nice, unrestored manor. This is a very unique chance to see what these places looked like back in the 19th and 20th centuries as the home owner left everything in place. The gardens are amazing and a great visit on their own.
