Fairy Garden is fabulous. Older lady in take away cafe is rude and coffee is served in fairy sized cups. Buy your coffee elsewhere.
We visited on a couple of occasions whilst visiting the area for a week. There are some great options for children to play on and there is even a micro brewery for adults!! The range of cakes is great... read more »
At lunch time the cafe was busy, yet the service was quick and professional. We really enjoyed the sharing lunch which combines soup, pie, smoked salmon and cheese with breads and oatcakes. It made a ... read more »
Was at a wedding on Sat 2nd May ..The venue was great and the staff could not be friendlier. everybody had a great time. The setting is really nice. If the weather had been nicer we could have used the nice seating area outside as well as inside. It is just on the outskirts of Gullane, and has the use of Scoot if needed. I would recommend
A very pleasant place to meet and eat. Light and spacious with a useful enclosed children’s play area at the back. Great menu with plenty of choice for everyone and a very good bar area with a fine selection of ale from the brewery. You can see the working brewery from the restaurant and purchase the tasty bottled beer from the delicatessen. My personal favourites where the IPA and the Black cork.
The Walled Garden farm store, pub, cafeteria and gift shop is fabulous. It has elegant signs off the main road and also the Archerfield Links golf course and estate house. The Knops Brewery (with its fantastic beers!) is on site and they run brewery tours. The cafeteria is bright and open. We loved the pub with Knops beers on tap, and you can either sit at the bar or the on the comfy sofas. The farm store had local products of fantastic quality -- we were drawn in by the huge selection of cheeses! We bought the deliciously creamy Oxford Isis (that was honey mead washed) and the Welsh unpasteurised Gorwydd Caerphilly that we have yet to try (we're trying to hold back!). The Le Langres washed in champagne and the creamy Morbier were both fabulous too. We were in cheese heaven! The prices for everything were all extremely reasonable, too. The baked goods looked tempting too and we were really wanting to buy a fresh lobster to cook at home. Next time (when we're not coming right from the North Berwick Lobster Shack) we will!
The perfect country setting for a relaxing lunch with friends or just droping in for delicous cake and coffee. Many pretty things to cast your eyes over for a little shopping.i was very pleasantly suprised also able to walk my dogs! around a beautifuly kept lake and the beech walk lm sure will look wonderful in the summer.Do try it.
